Refining Mobile Search and Exploring the Next Module

This week, I continued improving the mobile search flow for courses, institutions, and agents in Globaly.io. After the initial version, the focus shifted toward making the experience smoother and more usable on smaller screens, where even small design issues become more noticeable.

While refining the flow, I paid closer attention to things like spacing, how filters are grouped, and how easily users can move between search results and refinement options. On mobile, every interaction needs to feel simple and direct, so I kept adjusting things to reduce any unnecessary friction.

I also shared the updated mobile flow with the senior designer and got useful feedback. A few parts of the interaction, especially around filters and navigation, were simplified further after the discussion. Once I applied those changes, the flow felt more stable and closer to being ready for the next stage in the process.

Later in the week, we also discussed what to work on next, and the student profile section came up. It’s a different kind of challenge compared to search, more focused on structured user data, personal information, and application history, which will require a different design approach.

Key Learnings & Insights

  • Mobile UX improves significantly through small iterative refinements.
  • Feedback from senior designers helps simplify interaction patterns.
  • Search flows and profile systems require very different design thinking.
  • Structured review processes help move designs toward development readiness.
  • Understanding what to work on next is part of product thinking, not just design execution.
  • Application in Practice

This week, I focused on refining mobile interactions based on usability feedback and improving the clarity of filters and navigation. I also started preparing myself mentally for transitioning into the next module, which is likely the student profile system.

    Reflection

One thing I realized this week is how each stage of the design process builds on the previous one. Even small refinements in mobile UX can significantly improve the overall experience, and feedback plays a key role in shaping that improvement.

I also started feeling more comfortable with structured workflows, where design moves from exploration to feedback to approval before moving forward.

    Next Week Goals

    • Begin working on the student profile module for Globaly.io.
    • Understand what data and features are required in the profile system.
    • Collaborate with the senior designer to align on structure and expectations.
